Cold Plunge Productions

We are a production company dedicated to creating films that immerse and enliven your senses through transformative storytelling.

Concept Creation.

It all begins with an idea. A dream. A vision. Hannah takes the seed of an idea, and nurtures it into a compelling narrative through storyboarding and writing. This is typically the more creative “right-brain” part of the process where I love to hibernate at home or meditate out on the beach to access and piece together the vision.

Pre-Production.

Next, it’s time to get things done. There’s quite a bit involved with turning a story into a film. From putting together a budget, building out your cast and crew, securing locations, creating and managing release forms, to putting together the production schedule and calls sheets, it’s… well… a production. Hannah brings over ten years of experience in event production for these more logistical “left brain” elements, and finds great satisfaction in checking off all those items on her to-do list.

Production.

Lights, camera, action! After many weeks or months of concept development, writing, and pre-production, it’s time to actually shoot the film. On-the-ground production is probably the most exciting part of the filmmaking process. You get to see all of your your hard work come together, as well as the pure magic of the artistic collaboration with your cast and crew. As a producer, Hannah’s goal is to have all of her bases covered in pre-production, so that the team can fully immerse in the creative process of shooting the film. Of course, it’s normal for roadblocks to come up, but that’s where Hannah’s background as a Wilderness Guide and First Responder, and mental health therapist comes in handy. She’s used to dealing with high stress situations and working hard to handle them with grace and thoughtfulness. As a director/ producer, Hannah is committed to creating a culture of positivity and inclusivity that honors each individual and their talents, while staying focused on the big vision of making the film.

Why “Cold Plunge”?

Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a strong love for cold water. Growing up on the Atlantic ocean, I would jump in the water year round. Most vacations and trips were in the mountains, camping or backpacking, and whenever we came across an alpine lake, I’ve never been able to resist that urge to dive in. Cold plunging awakens our senses, invigorates us, makes us feel alive. And sometimes it takes stepping outside our comfort zone to feel that way. One of my core missions is to create films that help us feel more connected to ourselves, others, and the environment, and ultimately make us feel more alive.
